If you have been a part of our church for more than a year or so, you may remember before the Pandemic changed things up a bit, we were headed down a path of change at our church.

In the fall of 2019 we began the process of evaluating where we were as a church and where we wanted to be. We held a couple of inspiring meetings where we did a SWOT analysis (SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats).

And then COVID-19 shut the process down a year ago in March 2020.

Since then, we’ve made a number of changes, just not the ones we were thinking of. Everything moved online as fast as possible and our worship service was restructured to be more interactive.

I’ll be the first to admit we’ve made some mistakes; but, thankfully, we’re doing many things together in person again. And, it doesn’t look like another shutdown is on the horizon.

But, for better or for worse, we’ve moved into what is being called Hybrid Church. This simply means we’re now ministering to people both in-person and on-line.

Because of COVID, we discovered opportunities to reach people online we would never reach otherwise.

We know we will always want to meet together in person. That’s never going to go away. God created us for fellowship. But we have also come to realize most of the people God wants us to reach are more accessible to us on-line than in-person.

In reality, we’re entering a new and exciting season in the life of our church! As we continue to increase the number of in-person gatherings, we recognize we must continue to utilize both physical and digital spaces to support and serve this community.

As we get ready to pick up the conversation again that has been on pause during the pandemic – the conversation about needed change; several of us have been participating in Leading Hybrid Church, a workshop put on by the Barna Group.

We are looking to use this time to look at important data and be intentional as a team about what God may be inviting us into as we enter this new era of hybrid church.

If you’re in any way associated with our church, you’re invited to join us in this process as well! In partnership with Barna, we are deploying an assessment that we hope will provide insights into the experiences and wishes of those in our church. We would love for you to take it so we can listen and learn from you.

It should take less than ten minutes of your time, but will provide us with valuable insight we can all use to help us move forward.

All the data collected in this survey is anonymous, so please be honest and candid. Your responses can not be traced back to you, as we value your open feedback.

Thank you for your partnership and support for this church and our community. We are excited for the next season as together we explore and engage new opportunities to worship and grow.
