Royalty

There is something about being in the presence of royalty that can be a bit intimidating. Even if we say we don’t care about someone’s position in life, most of us would be unduly impressed with the regal ceremonies and high status if we found ourselves in a royal court.

But, these are really just people like you and me. They all have to bend over to pull their pants up, have similar feelings, and have the same messy and smelly bodily functions as we do. We’re all human beings – just living in different circumstances.

When we enter God’s royal court, it’s something completely different. Even the angels are awe inspiring. The image of God is beyond imagination and it seems every human who has ever experienced it simply can not stand in His presence without special grace from Him.

For humans, the only people who are not especially impressed with famous people or royalty, are their children – they’re just part of the family. For them, those we look at as famous or royal are simply mom or dad.

It is rather striking that God, the Creator of the universe. The Almighty God, invites you and me to become His children, becoming so familiar with Him, He simply becomes Dad.

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! (1 John 3:1, NLT)
